Good bye 2008 & Hello 2009

People always scare abt the year end because there is a lot of stuff to done, closing of a/c, sales production etc...And one thing that people like to do in year end is to come out with NEW YEAR RESOLUTION !

How many of us always have New Year Resolution??
Think through the whole day, spend time killing most of our brain cells and come out with brilliant New Year Resolution..but always at the end of the year, what is the result we get ? We might already forgotten what is our New Year Resolution for the year..So what is the purpose of New Year Resolution if you are not going to make it work...

Is there any NEw Year Resoultion in 2009 for you? If yes, why do you set that and how are you going to enroll yourself to the resolution and let it become a reality and not simply just a HOPE or WISH. Do you really feel for the NEw Year Resolution or you just have it set because everyone is setting for it?

For me, 2008 I ended it in a way that I never had before and I am looking forward for 2009. I never set any New Year Resolution in the past...this year I didn't set it too..cos I am already working forward for what I want for 2009...I am now in a platform that is telling me that I am breathing now, I am eating now, I am blogging now etc...Is all the NOW, and I am LIVING MY LIFE NOW...so what the year is going to end, it does not mean that your life end and restart...your life won't restart from zero when the year end....So LIVE NOW!

Platonic Friendship Vs Love

How we define ourselves in a state of Platonic friendship or in love with the opposite sex?

Some people believe that there won't be any platonic friendship between opposite sex..there will be bound that one of them will fall for the other, it is just a matter of time..

Wherever a friendship between two people of the opposite sex is seen, society makes predictions about how the friendship is doomed to fail because intimate feelings will usually get involved." Why this thought? When a platonic relationship is put in the spotlight, most people have the same view - that the relationship will get too intimate for comfort or that one half of the friendship is vying for more than just plain and simple companionship.

As for me, I am very simple. As long as I get my intention clear, I need not worry on how people going to view my friendship with the guy, I do whatever I want or I feel...But if the other party mistaken about this relationship, I need to voice out and handle the situation fast and not letting the other party dwell in deeper...Of course, said is easier than done ..Life is always a choice for you to choose. Doing nothing is also a choice, but what will it brings to you.

I believe platonic friendship exists. Intention and time is the factor for platonic friendship to be work out. How about you? =)

5 Love Languages Test

I saw this test in Verdy's blog and I find it interesting so I took the test and see for myself what is my primary love lauguage will be....Result shows this :

The Five Love Languages

My primary love language is probably
Physical Touch
with a secondary love language being
Acts of Service.

Complete set of results

Physical Touch: 9
Acts of Service: 7
Quality Time: 7
Receiving Gifts: 4
Words of Affirmation: 3

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

What do I want?

This is only the 3rd day of the LP 79 journey, and it seems that a lot of things had be happening around me. When people choose to go, we will always want them to stay with us...Why is it so? This reflect in my job now...When I choose to go, they will want me to stay....

Someone told me that I should have a big dream in me which I dare not feel as it is too big for me to realise it alone...What motivates me and make me move on?

He told me one thing that he had in mind which is " Save the world!" When he said that It suddenly touches my heart and I starts to feel for it....WHO, WHEN, WHERE and HOW to save the world?? It make me pondering and start to have a vision of my own...I start to feel for the laughters, the trust , the openness, the care and many many more.....

So what is next and what do I want to do now ?

NEW IMAGE !

My old image that with me for almost 10 yrs
My new image with a fresh look ya!

Today was a very loving day for me! I got a breakthrough in my image and also feel so much love around me..I went to Heatwave @Marina Square to have a change of my hair. I reached there at 5.30pm , waiting for Verdy to meet me, but he was caught in the long queue in waiting cab so he asked me to go to the salon first.

I went in and told them I want to cut my hair and change my image. So they suggested I do a bodily rebonding, highlight and cut. So they started the work on my hair...after a short while, Verdy finally found his way to the salon...He sat beside me, chat with me at times and waited patiently for me while reading his "50 Facts that can change the world".

About 2 hrs later, Judy and Francis were here to support me too..I was so shocked to see Francis as I never expect him to be here..A while later, Ryhan was here too. The hairstylist was asking me if I am an underworld figure, and all my "men" came and support me...hahahaha....

After the rebonding, the highlighting, it came the most exciting part which is the cutting of my hair. I insisted that I don't want to cut my hair SHORT ! So the hairstylist style it to my shoulder length...After she finished, I looked at myself in the mirror and also the friends around me, they sent me a secret message "NO CHANGE LOR, CINDY TAN!" I also think that no much change lah...
The hairstylist then suggested that if I am indecisive about cutting short, I can go back and think about it and come back within 7 days to cut it. Then Verdy said : "why wait? cut it short NOW"...... then I paused for a while, I took the courage and said "OK! Cut it SHORT NOW!"..hahaha
Finally I cut it short and get a totally new image. I managed to put away the 10 years image that I am holding for...Yeah! They find that this hairstyle suits me a lot.. :P

Thank you Ryhan and Verdy for your time and financial commitment and also Judy and Francis for your support .

I love you all so much =) *Muacks

Latin Dance

Latin Dance is one part of my life...I love the sensation that Latin dance give it to me =)
Now I can feel my passion of these dance even more after my injury of my left ankle..I really miss dancing...Should be able to dance soon...yeah!

Let's see what comprises the Latin Competition dance.
1)Rumba
A dance term with two quite different meanings.
First, it means Cuban event of African style, organically related to the rumba genre of Afro-Cuban music. There are several styles of this rumba, the most common being the guaguancó.
Second, it refers to one of the ballroom dances which occurs in social dance and in international competitions. In this sense, rumba is the slowest of the five competition Latin and American dances: the Paso doble, the Samba, the Cha-cha-chá and the Jive being the others. This ballroom rumba was also danced in Cuba to a rhythm they call the bolero-son.

The rumba as a social dance was introduced first in Britain and America: the versions differ somewhat. It is a slower dance of about 120 beats per minute which corresponds, both in music and in dance to what the Cubans of an older generation called the bolero-son. It is easy to see why, for ease of reference and for marketing, rumba is a better name, however inaccurate; it is the same kind of reason that led to the use of salsa as an overall term for popular music of Cuban origin.
All social dances in Cuba involve a hip-sway over the standing leg and, though this is scarcely noticeable in fast salsa, it is more pronounced in the slow ballroom rumba. This, at least, is authentic, as is the use of free arms in various figures. The figures derive from dance moves observed in Havana in the pre-revolutionary period, and have developed their own life since then. Competition figures are often extremely complex, and this is where competition dance separates from social dance.

2)Pasodoble
(literal meaning in Spanish: double-step) is a typical Spanish march-like musical style as well as the corresponding dance style danced by a couple. It is the type of music typically played in bullfights during the bullfighters' entrance to the ring (paseo) or during the passes (faena) just before the kill. The leader of this dance plays the part of the matador. The follower generally plays the part of the matador's cape, but can also represent the bull or a flamenco dancer in some figures. It corresponds to the Pasodoble dance (traditional and ballroom).Famous bullfighters have been honored with pasodoble tunes named after them. Others are inspired in patriotic motives or local characters..

Paso Doble, like Samba, is a progressive International Latin dance. The Paso Doble is the Latin dance most resembling the International Standard style, in that forward steps are taken with the heel lead, the frame is wider and more strictly kept up, and there is significantly different and less hip movement.
A significant number of Paso Doble songs are variants of España Cañi. The song has breaks in fixed positions in the song (two breaks at syllabus levels, three breaks and a longer song at Open levels). Traditionally Paso Doble routines are choreographed to match these breaks, as well as the musical phrases. Accordingly, most other ballroom Paso Doble tunes are written with similar breaks (those without are simply avoided in most competitions).
Because of its inherently choreographed tradition, ballroom Paso Doble for the most part danced only competitively, almost never socially — or at least not without sticking to some sort of previously-learned routine. This said, in Spain, France, Vietnam, Colombia and some parts of Germany to the west of the river Rhine, it is danced socially as a lead (not choreographed) dance.

3)Samba
A lively, rhythmical dance of Brazilian origin in 2/4 time danced under the Samba music. However, there are three steps to every bar, making the Samba feel like a 3/4 timed dance. Its origins include the Maxixe. There are two major streams of Samba dance that differ significantly: the modern Ballroom Samba, described in this article, and the traditional Samba of Brazil. The Brazilian Ballroom Samba is called "Gafieira".
The ballroom Samba is danced to music in 2/4 or 4/4 time. The basic movements are counted either 1-2 or 1-a-2, and are danced with a slight downward bouncing or dropping action. This action is created through the bending and straightening of the knees, with bending occurring on the beats of 1 and 2, and the straightening occurring on the "a". Samba is notable for its constantly changing rhythms however, with cross-rhythms being a common feature. Thus, common step values (in beats are):
3/4 1/4 1
3/4 1/4 3/4 1/4
1 1/2 1/2
3/4 1/2 3/4

As a ballroom dance, the samba is a partner dance. Ballroom samba, like other ballroom dances, is very disconnected from the origins and evolution of the music and dance that gives it its name. It is a form created for its suitability as a partner dance. The dance movements, which do not change depending on the style of samba music being played, borrows some movements from Afro-Brazilian traditional dances such those used in candomblé rituals and the chamadas of capoeira angola.

4) Cha-cha-cha
(in Spanish Cha-cha-chá) is a Latin American dance of Cuban origin. It corresponds to the cha-cha-cha music introduced by Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrín. This rhythm was developed from the danzon by a syncopation of the fourth beat.
The dance teacher Pierre Zurcher Margolie ('Monsieur Pierre', who partnered with Doris Lavelle) from London visited Cuba in 1952 to find out how and what Cubans were dancing at the time. He noted that this new dance had a split 4th beat, and to dance it one started on the second beat, not the first. He brought this dance idea to England and eventually created what is known now as ballroom cha-cha-cha.The validity of his analysis is well established for that time, and some forms of evidence exist today. First, there is in existence film of Orquesta Jorrin playing to a cha-cha-cha dance contest in Cuba; second, the rhythm of the Benny More classic Santa Isabel de las Lajas written and recorded at about the same time is quite clearly synchopated on the fourth beat. Also, note that the slower bolero-son ("rumba") was always danced on the second beat.

However, many other numbers are syncopated on all beats, and permit dancers to do the chasse on the third beat, which some do.In traditional American Rhythm style, Latin hip movement is achieved through the alternate bending and straightening action of the knees, though in modern competitive dancing, the technique is virtually identical to the International Latin style. In the International Latin style, the weighted leg is almost always straight. The free leg will bend, allowing the hips to naturally settle into the direction of the weighted leg. As a step is taken, a free leg will straighten the instant before it receives weight. It should then remain straight until it is completely free of weight again.

5)Jive
A dance style in 4/4 time that originated in the United States from African-Americans in the early 1940s. It is a lively and uninhibited variation of the Jitterbug, a form of Swing dance.
In Ballroom dancing, Jive is one of the five International Latin dances. In competition it is danced at a speed of 44 bars per minute, although in other cases this is reduced to between 32 and 40 bars per minute.

Many of its basic patterns are similar to these of the East Coast Swing with the major difference of highly syncopated rhythm of the Triple Steps (Chasses), which use straight eighths in ECS and hard swing in Jive.Jive (or the correct term jitterbug jive) is named after a 30's Mickey Mouse cartoon where Mickey and Minnie danced a country style jitterbug. The name came from Jitterbugs being the dancers and Jive meaning 'fake'.

But, the dance steps are actually derived from country dancing. The turns and overhead moves are a direct descendant of some very old English country dances where couples cross over in a diagonal. Jive actually has nothing to do with the Lindy Hop, Charleston or any other body lead dance of the time, this is due to the dance being hand lead rather than body lead as in all the other swing dances of the 30's and 40's. Real 30's jive dancing features smooth, sliding footwork whereas later the footwork was not as smooth due to the dancers lifting their feet so as not to trip on rough floor boards or the local rough country entertainment establishments.

American soldiers brought these dances to Europe around 1940, where they swiftly found a following among the young. After the war, the boogie became the dominant form for popular music. It was, however, never far from criticism as a foreign, vulgar dance. The famous ballroom dancing guru, Alex Moore, said that he had "never seen anything uglier".

English instructors developed the elegant and lively Jive, danced to slightly slower music. In 1968 it was adopted as the fifth Latin dance in International competitions. The modern jive in the 1990's-present, is a very happy and boppy dance, the lifting of feet work and the bending of hips often occurs. The Jive is a fun and energetic latin/american dance, so technique wise you will need to be jumpy, yet keep your knees high after each chasse.Leaning with your top line will show your partner where you are going to go next.Even though this is one of the easier latin dances, you will still need to rock your hips from side to side, especially in counts 1 and 2.

A pat on the back

Everyday in our life, we are always busy up and down like a bumble bee. When did we actually stop our pace for awhile and cuddle ourselves for the hard work that we had done for the day?

Today someone taught me a technique to cuddle myself, to give myself a pat on the back....

(1) Cross both your hands in front of your chest and make sure that the fingers touch your arms.
(2) Close your eyes and slowly pat yourself with your fingers on the left then follow by the right.
(3) While you are patting yourself, focus on your breathing and encourage yourself that "You are good enough" , "You had done a good job" etc..
(4) Repeat (2) and (3) for 5 mins.

This technique can helps you to focus back to yourself and get yourself up when you are down. Try it and remember that the most important thing is that YOU MUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Ya! ;P

Fields Of Hopes

Today i received a email from my friend. He sent me this japanese song "Fields Of Hopes". What does Hopes mean to you? Of cos, there will be some people will tell me "THERE IS NO HOPE"! You know who you are that belong to this group of people....

What is the meaning of "HOPE"?

hope
hop⋅ing.

1.the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best: to give up hope.

2.a particular instance of this feeling: the hope of winning.
3.grounds for this feeling in a particular instance: There is little or no hope of his recovery.
4.a person or thing in which expectations are centered: The medicine was her last hope.
5.something that is hoped for: Her forgiveness is my constant hope.
–verb (used with object)
6.to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence.
7.to believe, desire, or trust: I hope that my work will be satisfactory.
–verb (used without object)
8.to feel that something desired may happen: We hope for an early spring.
9.Archaic. to place trust; rely (usually fol. by in).—Idiom
10.hope against hope, to continue to hope, although the outlook does not warrant it: We are hoping against hope for a change in her condition.
Origin: bef. 900; (n.) ME; OE hopa; c. D hoop, G Hoffe; (v.) ME hopen, OE hopian

There are 10 explanations on how the word "Hope" is being used. Hope is only a feeling that never going to turn my vision into reality if I am going to spend all my time hoping......This is what I realise recently...

Don't just hope, if you able to convert the energy of hope into action, your dream and vision will become reality. You might be lonely in this journey but then remember is your life , own it! All the energy , all the visions , all the motivation is all within your heart. Feel it and Follow your heart :)

Love

For the past 5 years, I never knew that I am holding back on love relationship. I thought I had let it go....everybody around me can feel my resistance except myself...I was wondering why do they tell me to let go and be open. I always told myself I do open but that is only forcing myself to be open. I rejected all the love given to me...I hate to be loved, I hate to be tortured by love. I want freedom from love therefore I escape from love...I never being truthful and love myself.

I hide myself in the darkest corner of my love life. I don't want to get hurt!!! But now I decided to take the courage to handle it...I want to have my past and unhappiness to go away from me..The only way out is to go through it..

I am glad that I got a buddy that made me go through and get the most inner fear of love out of me..I am now open and feel love in myself...I am not resisting in any love because I had tortured myself enough for 5 years...I am not going to waste another of my 5 years...I am going to be a lovable and confident gal. I am going to feel love again =)

Thank you Verdy , my dear buddy.

10 days

In Nov 2008 , i spent 10 of the days very differently from the rest of the Nov that I spent for 27 years. I was in a place where I found the authentic me that I had always been hiding away from. The first 5 days made me aware of myself. The last 5 days brought The Voice Within out of me.

I was in a journey where I see the darkest moments of my life... I was in a journey that I had been carrying certain beliefs in myself that shut my life down.... I was in a journey where I need to handle the most fearful and hurting moments that I never wanted to handle at all... I was in a journey where I see love and warmth around me... I was in a journey where I started to trust people around me so deeply and be honest to them...... I was in a journey where friendship is built toward the highest degree in a shortest period of time... I was in a journey where I can make a difference in people's life.... I was in a journey that i feel my own life and own it..........

I never love myself at all...but now I am going to love myself because is MY LIFE! Only when I love myself, then I can feel the love and warmth around me. They are always there....

Thank you to all my dear friends that are around me for these 10 days..YOU ALL REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
